Of wire and wind is a collection of handmade tree sculptures that will brighten and add interest to your space. With heights ranging from 1 -2 feet, these are not pieces that could go unnoticed. They are sculptures guaranteed to draw attention and admiration from friends, family, and visitors alike.

I've been an art hobbyist since early childhood. Coloring was soon followed by drawing, painting, and sculpting. I drew until I filled sketch books, painted until I no longer had wall space, and in my late 20s took a sculpture class at the Boston MFA during which I was given a lot of freedom to do whatever I wanted. It was during this class that I created my first wire and paper tree. My instructor thought I was crazy to cut out hundreds of individual leaves (and he may have been correct on that point) but the end product drew attention and I fell in love. I am now running out of table and shelf space but just can't stop.
I use a base of differing wires and natural fibrous pulpy papers for the leaves. All leaves are individually hand-cut. There is zero automation in my process making each tree unique and a labor of love and devotion.
I have a (mild) tree obsession. They are my favorite subject matter in both painting and sculpting. They inspire me, they carry me away, they root me to the earth, they speak to me ... and I listen.
